Real Rashy
The More Minute the Detail, the More Universal the Experience;
a rapper’s regards regarding emotional connectivity,
nostalgia, wordlove, Disneyland trashcans, and scientific semantics;
as taught by Vince, Real Rashy, W.B. Yeats,
ee cummings, and possibly a few others.
in lieu of that which is the Rugu of Rugus, Gu(r)ooooh of ooooh’s, a smelly old pug’s smell shall be filling tonight’s night air with a rank pungence. Tune back in next month for a more intoxicatingly confusing - yet somehow more precise & understandable - return of your favorite bearded madman!
Let’s Start with the Obvious, and For Woodwinds (Tonglen Variations)
Machine Project just posted some video recapping the performance of Johanna Reed and Marcus Kuiland-Nazario, Let’s Start With the Obvious (dialogue for a hero and her arch nemesis) – A one-act play for two performers, who impersonate two YouTube mashups of movie insults and threats, embodying the cinematic history of rage and humiliation, and arrive at a meta-proto-arch-dialogue. Plus the 2nd half featured Guru Rugu presenting the experimental meditation, For Woodwinds (Tonglen Variations) by Adam Overton, in an attempt to try and smooth out all the negative energy in the space.

For Woodwinds (Tonglen Variations) – Version TWO: Kazoos
I just read Robert Cheatham’s Borders and Exiles: Apologetics (from the Catalogue of Despair) at Johanna Reed’s event at Machine Project last Friday, as a series of apologies to help counteract the rancor of her preceding play, Let’s Start with the Obvious: http://johannareed.net/obvious.html
Borders and Exiles: Apologetics was then followed with For Woodwinds (Tonglen Variations), performed twice – once with two different audiences.
2nd rendition, kazoos – mp3
